California athlete wants to make the Dominican team for Rio 2016
Santo Domingo.- Brailin Paulino, a Clovis West graduate, could possibly compete in the olympics in Rio representing his native Dominican Republic, outlet yourcentralvalley.com reported.
Paulino, 20, was raised in Fresno, California but is from the Dominican Republic. He is a Cornell University student now and is practicing for a race that will determine if he can compete or not.
"In the 100 meters I ran a 10.58 which would’ve put me at fifth for the Dominican Republic team," he told yourcentralvalley.com.
Paulino competed in the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Morelia, Mexico where he was 4th in the 4x100m with the Dominican Republic National team.
"The biggest trials produce the biggest blessings. So getting to represent my country would mean the world to me and the world to my parents," he told the website.
