Al Horford advances to second NBA Finals with Boston Celtics

Chicago.- The Dominican Al Horford has advanced to the second NBA Finals of his career following the Boston Celtics’ 105-102 victory on Monday, which secured a 4-0 sweep against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.

Horford, now 37, will aim for his first championship ring after coming close in the 2022 Finals, where the Celtics were defeated by the Golden State Warriors.

With 181 postseason games under his belt, Horford is the third player with the most playoff appearances without a championship title.

In the decisive game against the Pacers, Horford, starting under coach Joe Mazzulla, contributed seven points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Notably, after making seven three-pointers in Game 3 of the series, he hit one of three attempts in Game 4.

The Celtics, chasing their eighteenth title in the franchise’s storied history, will begin the NBA Finals on June 6 in Boston. They will face either Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks or the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the Mavericks currently leading their series 3-0.
