Samaná officially declared Ecotourism Province

Samaná.- The Dominican Republic has officially declared Samaná an Ecotourism Province following the approval of a bill by both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. The initiative, led by Senator and Vice President of the Senate Dr. Pedro Catrain, seeks to promote sustainable tourism that protects the environment and benefits local communities. Deputies Cecilio García and Carmen Lidia William championed the project in the Chamber, highlighting its potential to generate real opportunities for residents.
The new law aims to foster environmentally responsible development in Samaná by preserving its biodiversity while promoting eco-friendly tourism. The province boasts numerous attractions such as Salto del Limón, Las Galeras, El Valle, Las Terrenas, humpback whale watching in Samaná Bay, and Los Haitises National Park.
With this legislation, Samaná will follow a legal framework that ensures tourism growth aligns with environmental conservation. The law positions the province as a national model for ecological tourism and sustainable regional development.
Do something about the illegal occupation of undocumented Haitians invading natural reserves and environmentally protected areas in and around Samana. Authorities need to act on this ASAP. These people turned their country into a shithole and now they want to do the same on this side of the island.
