Dominican Republic to host international Wedding Congress

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic is set to host the Wedding Congress from May 26 to 29 at the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, bringing together over 500 international professionals from the romance travel industry. Organized by the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals, the event is one of the most significant in the sector, covering weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, and related celebrations.

The congress will officially open at the La Fiesta Theater and will serve as a strategic platform for the Dominican Republic to showcase its offerings in the destination wedding and romance segment. The four-day event will feature a packed agenda of business meetings, hands-on workshops, and educational conferences.

Workshops will include topics such as “Talent from the Dominican Republic to the World” in partnership with ABERD, “How to Manage Family Businesses” led by Braulio and Lizandra Segura, and “Ephemeral Architecture” presented by Elixandra Bernabel. Participants will also explore key wedding locations such as boutique hotels, the Colonial City, and Juan Dolió, gaining a firsthand look at the country’s appeal as a premier romance destination.
