Marco Rubio praises Dominican Republic at Senate confirmation hearing

Washington, DC.- Marco Rubio, nominated as the next U.S. Secretary of State, highlighted the Dominican Republic as a regional example of success during his Senate confirmation hearing. Responding to Senator Tim Kaine’s inquiry about well-performing countries in the region, Rubio commended Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Argentina.

Rubio praised the Dominican Republic for its effective handling of Haiti’s instability and its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, noting its swift vaccination efforts and resurgence in tourism. While brief in his remarks, Rubio demonstrated an awareness of the country’s unique challenges and achievements.

Rubio also discussed Ecuador’s struggles with cross-border armed gangs and Argentina’s economic reforms under President Javier Milei. Regarding Cuba, Rubio expressed strong opposition to its removal from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism, asserting that the island continues to meet the criteria for such designation.

But his administrations praises countries instead of letting them down. That’s how you build relations if you didn’t know that.

The USA should adopt the same immigrant citizenship requirements as the Dominican Republic. No U.S birthrite status for any immigrant child born in the USA unless at least one parent is already a full US citizen. Backdated to 1929. Just like the Dominican Republic. Let the deportations begin, how does 10,000 a month sound? , Familiar?
